Pressure Washer Hose

A pressure washer hose may serve as an extension device, or a replacement part for a hose reel.

If you work with pressure washer cleaning equipment there may be times when you need the use of an additional pressure washer hose. This is generally required for one of two reasons, firstly as a replacement for a worn out or damaged hose on your machine or secondly as an extension for your machine if you should need this.

Pressure washer cleaners come in a range of styles including cold water, hot water and steam cleaners. Each of these basically works by directing a jet of high pressure water or steam through a nozzle which is fed by a hose. When you purchase equipment it will come with a pressure washer hose included. However it is not uncommon for hoses to sustain damage or become worn with age and in these cases a replacement hose will be required. It may also be that the length of hose supplied with the machine is not long enough to reach all the areas you require to clean and this case an extension hose will be required.

It is important to remember that these types of machine work under high pressure and therefore any hose is not suitable for attachment. This means that when buying a pressure washer hose you need to keep a few things in mind. Firstly you need to know the pressure under which the machine you are buying the hose for works in terms of pounds per square inch (psi) and ensure that the hose you purchase is capable of dealing with this. Typically lower pressure models work at around 1000 psi and higher pressure models can go up to 5000 to 8000 psi.

Secondly you need to buy a hose that has couplings that are compatible with the machine you use. It may be that the company you purchased the equipment from also deal in replacement hoses and if this is the case then they will likely be the best place to purchase one as you can then be sure it is compatible with your machine. Otherwise before purchasing a new hose make sure the couplings fit your machine.

The majority of the companies that make this type of equipment such as Steam Jenny and Ultimate Washer also produce replacement parts. There are also a number of companies such as FAIP that produce a universal pressure washer hose which can work with a range of machines. However it always pays to check before buying to ensure that a particular hose fits your machine. Pressure washer hoses typically come in 25 foot to 100 foot lengths and costs for these can start at around $50.

As rubber hoses can be perishable it may be that you are required to replace the pressure washer hose during the life of your machine or alternatively you may need an extension hose to make cleaning easier. Either way a hose is a relatively affordable product and purchasing one of these for your cleaning machine should be a fairly straightforward process. As long as you ensure that the hose is rated for the correct pressure and has appropriate couplings, attaching it to you equipment should not be a problem.
